PRESENTACIÓN:
Es una publicación seriada de carácter científico, crítico y analítico del Departamento de Formación Humana y Bioética, en la cual se da a conocer la producción escrita que diferentes académicos han venido aportando en su trabajo de docencia e investigación a la sociedad. Es editada por la Universidad de San Buenaventura Medellín, con periodicidad semestral (enero a junio y de julio a diciembre).
Se procura en últimas, abrir espacios alternativos que motiven y fomenten la búsqueda sustentada y científica de respuestas a los retos que presenta un mundo y un país sujeto a importantes cambios y transformaciones pero, que siempre deberán tener al hombre como actor permanente y fin en si mismo, realidad de la cual no debe distanciarse la Universidad, si quiere ser fiel a su misión fundamental.

El contenido de ésta revista está dirigido a especialistas, investigadores y estudiantes de pregrado, postgrado como a las diferentes organizaciones sociales que trabajan estos temas en el ámbito de las ciencias sociales y humanas.

La producción en cuestión, se agrupa, al interior de la revista, en tres secciones de artículos así:

Cátedra Abierta, trabajos de Investigación que propenden por la dignificación del ser humano

Bioética en la Universidad: un aporte desde la investigación y el que hacer científico encaminados a brindar un aporte en la toma de conciencia por una vida frágil ante los avances de la tecno - bio- medicina.

En torno al pensamiento franciscano: espacio que pretende generar aportes significativos desde el trabajo investigativo, a la identidad propia de la Universidad como es la filosofía franciscana, su aporte a la ciencia y a la transformación social.

Esta producción escrita se fundamenta en los siguientes aspectos:

Fortalecer y visibilizar la producción investigativa los docentes y demás expertos internos y externos a la institución, en el área de las ciencias humanas y sociales
-
La urgencia de consolidar en forma escrita la perspectiva académica los resultados de Investigaciòn de la Universidad de San Bonaventura sobre la realidad social actual.

El deber sentido, desde quienes laboramos en esta área socio – humanista, de ofrecer a la comunidad académica un instrumento través del cual se pueda establecer un acercamiento interdisciplinario en defensa del valor de la vida, la persona, los derechos humanos, los valores y la ciencia, como instancia que beneficia en forma responsable al hombre, aportando elementos de juicio y análisis que ayuden a conformar conciencia personal y colectiva, por medio de un órgano de expresión serio, científico, estructurado y coherente dentro de las perspectivas de la educación superior que demanda nuestro tiempo.

Permitir la presentación y actualización bibliográficas en relación con todos los Objetivos de la Formación Humana y Bioética de la Universidad de San Buenaventura.

Generar el espacio adecuado para presentar y profundizar en torno a la propuesta humanista del pensamiento Franciscano y su enseñanza para una sociedad en constante transformación.
El primer número de la revista se puso en circulación en diciembre de 2001, identificada como publicación seriada en Colombia con ISSN 1657 – 8031 de la división de recursos Bibliográficos del ICFES, el 6 de febrero de 2002. Se editan dos números al año y se distribuye nacional e internacionalmente; dicha publicación es dinamizadora y articuladora de la producción académica fruto de la Investigación, en procura de desarrollar elementos que amplíen el horizonte de la dignidad humana, de la solidaridad colectiva, la conciencia social, la dimensión ecológica y la visión humanista de la mano con el aporte del Grupo de Interdisciplinario para el Desarrollo del Pensamiento y la Acción Dialógica (GIDPAD) Grupo de investigación de la unidad de Apoyo de Formación Humana y Bioética.
TIPOS DE ARTÍCULOS QUE PUBLICA LA REVISTA
El comité editorial de la revista ha definido estos tipos de artículos a publicar:
Los documentos publicados por la Revista EL AGORA USB corresponderán a la tipología de artículos definida por Colciencias así:

Artículo de investigación científica y tecnológica. Presenta resultados originales de proyectos terminados de investigación. Debe incluir introducción, metodología, resultados y conclusiones.

Artículo de reflexión. Presenta resultados de investigación terminada desde una perspectiva analítica, interpretativa o crítica del autor, sobre un tema específico, recurriendo a fuentes originales.

Artículo de revisión. Documento resultado de una investigación terminada donde se analizan, sistematizan e integran los resultados de investigaciones publicadas o no publicadas, sobre un campo en ciencia o tecnología, con el fin de dar cuenta de los avances y las tendencias de desarrollo. Se caracteriza por presentar una cuidadosa revisión bibliográfica de por lo menos 50 referencias.

PRESETATION:
It is a serial publication of scientific, critical, and analytical character of the Human Formation and Bioethics Department. In it, the written production of different scholars devoted to teaching and research within society, is published. It is edited by Saint Bonaventure University, Medellin. It is issued every semester (from January to June and from July to December).
It aims, at a last resort, to open alternative spaces which motivate and foster the sustained and scientific search for answers to today’s world challenges and a country subject to changes and transformations, but they will have to take man into account as a permanent actor and end in himself, it is a reality that the University should not be grown apart if it wants to be faithful to its fundamental mission.

The Contents of this journal is addressed to specialists, researchers, and undergraduate and graduate students, as well as different social organizations interested in issues relating to the social and human sciences.

The production in question is divided into three sections of articles, as follows:

Open Chair: Research works which propose by the dignity of the human being.

Bioethics at University: A contribution from research and the scientific job aiming to make people aware of a fragile life faced with techno–bio–medical advancements.

The Franciscan Thought: A space which aims to generate meaningful contributions from the research work to the University’s self–identity like in the case of Franciscan philosophy, to science and the social transformation.

This written production is based on the following features:
-
The need of consolidating, in a written manner, the academic perspective and the results derived from research, at Saint Bonaventure University, about the current social reality.
-
The due sense of those who work within the socio–humanistic area, by offering the academic community an instrument through which it is possible to establish an interdisciplinary approach relating to issues like the following: a defense of the value of life, the person, the human rights, the values and science, as an instance which benefits man, in a responsible manner, by providing elements of judgment and analysis which contribute to the formation or both a personal and collective consciousness, by means of a serious, scientific, structured, and coherent organ of expression, within the perspectives of higher education which our times demand.
The first issue was issued in December 2001, identified as a serial publication in Colombia with ISSN 1657 – 8031 of ICFES Bibliographical Resources Division, ON February 6th, 2002. Two issues are edited per year and are distributed nationally and internationally. Such a publication is a revitalizing and articulating one of the academic production as a result of research, aiming to develop elements which let us widen the horizon of the human dignity, of the collective solidarity, the social consciousness, the ecologic dimension, and the humanistic vision, supported by the Interdisciplinary Group for the Development of Thinking and the Dialogic Action (GIDPAD), which is a Research Group of the Human Formation and Bioethics Support Unit.
TYPES OF ARTICLES WHICH ARE PUBLISHED IN THIS JOURNAL

The documents published by the El Agora Journal will correspond to the typology of articles defined by Colciencias, as follows:

Scientific and technological research article. It presents original results of finished research projects. It must include an introduction, a methodology, results, and conclusions.

Article of a reflection. It presents results of a finished piece of research, from the author’s analytical, interpretive, or critical perspective about a specific issue, using original sources.
-
Article review. It is a document which is the result of a finished piece of research, where the results of published or unpublished research, about a field in science or technology, in order to show the results of advances and tendencies in development. It is characterized by including a careful bibliographical review of at least 50 references.
